Accessibility

We want this site to be usable by everyone who needs to work with us, including procurement staff using assistive technology.

Our approach

This website was designed and built with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as the working standard. In practice that means:

  • Semantic HTML structure with a single, logical heading hierarchy on every page
  • Full keyboard operability, including a skip link and visible focus indicators
  • Text and interface colors selected to meet or exceed AA contrast ratios
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology
  • Form fields with associated labels, hint text, and error messages announced to screen readers
  • Respect for the prefers-reduced-motion setting, which disables the site's subtle transitions
  • Layouts that reflow to 320px width and support browser zoom to 200% without loss of content

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a one-time task. As we publish new documents and pages, we test them against the same standard. Attached PDF documents may not yet meet the same level of accessibility as the website itself; if you need the content of any document in an alternative format, we will provide it.

Reporting a barrier

If you encounter a page, document, or feature on this site that you cannot use, please tell us. Include the page address and a short description of the problem, and we will respond and work to resolve it.
